Awaken to the sounds of birds greeting a new day, walk the nature trails & garden paths, or just sit and enjoy the beautiful White Mountain sunset from the back yard or your own personal deck. Enjoy deer, chipmunks and an occasional black bear sighting. You can bike the mountain loop for breathtaking views and hike to the top of Streaked Mountain on a fully groomed trail. Cool off with a dip in one of our beautiful lakes or canoe down the lazy Saco River. Area mines still offer an exciting experience for the gem and mineral enthusiast and an opportunity to take a piece of Maine with you. Fall brings crisp clear days, spectacular fall foliage, and the renown Fryeburg Fair, and Oxford Fair. The wonderful array of winter activities may take you skiing on one of the area slopes, snowmobiling the miles of snow covered trails or snowshoeing along a quiet path.

History ~

The Victorian inn, with post and beam barn, is the birthplace of Horatio King who was born in 1811. He was raised on this family farm and became a distinguished native son of Paris. King attended the commonschools, learned the printers' trade and became editor and owner of the Jeffersonian, a paper printed at Paris Hill. In 1839 he was appointed to a position in the Post Office Department in Washington , DC. In 1861 Horatio King became Postmaster General under President Buchanan. He died in 1897. Hannibal Hamlin, vice president under Lincoln, was also a native of Paris and personal friend of Horatio. Before going to Washington, Hamlin was one of the early tourmaline prospectors at world famous Mt. Mica here in Paris.
